Well, I have studied Myers-Briggs personality types, and they say that when you are young you develop the parts of your personality that are most basic and natural for you. And hopefully as you age, you learn to operate on the other levels that never seemed natural before. So you become more well-rounded as you mature. Probably physiologically, your brain continues developing, I'd guess. The level you describe, the finding-connections-between-things level is one that was the most natural for me. I was always the one seeing the connections in English class. I am always trying to explain myself in analogies to my very concrete husband who can't see why I would suddenly start talking about something completely off the wall and off topic! Thankfully my mother is a practical woman who instilled in me a basic understanding of practicality.
this is super interesting! thanks, that's helpful. I guess we must still have some brain development because I'm loving learning all sorts of new things in this class I'm taking and it doesn't feel super taxing either :)
Maybe this is the universe telling you to not overthink and just enjoy it. I am way older than you and I didn't get anything like that when i turned 40. If anything I got crankier.

haha, I'm ALSO crankier :D but also increased anxiety and overthinking so it all tracks, I guess.
